Alexis continues to love art. She now says instead of being a doctor (an eye doctor to be exact) she wants to be an artist. She definetely has the talent and the love for it. I love all her drawings and her beautiful colorful paintings.

Puppets, K-Nex, Wizard Duel!

Alexis and I had fun making puppets out of toilet paper rolls. We gave the puppets rides on a mary-go-round made of K-Nex. Mine is the Russian looking dog and hers is the one with the "crazy hair" (as she calls it) and the cool bendy orange legs. She has really had fun building with Lego's and K-Nex lately. It has been exciting to be able to play and build more complex things with her. The latest was Harry Potter wands we all built and then had wizard duels. Shaun won of course because his wand was actually more like a light saber! We were running around the living room all laughing hysterically while broken off K-Nex peices flew around the room while we duelled! We all had a blast. I wish I had a movie of Alexis just laughing constantly while playing it.

Cut, Paper, Play

There is a really fun book we periodically check out at the Library.
It is Called "Cut, Paper, Play". I really like the simple projects they have to make out of paper with kids. We love it!This is a flower we made that we sprayed with perfume.

On the right is our names in Cursive. This is another flower that we made.

Blocks

Alexis has just now started showing an interest in playing with her blocks. I was getting my makeup on the other day while she played in her room. I came back to find an very detailed village made of blocks. I was excited that she has found a new found love of this old toy. Alexis calls this "Her Village". The Path to "the Village"
I liked the round cylinder balancing on the upside down triangle box

Alexis's Birthday!

Alexis got a new birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Cornia. And a new Tinkerbell shirt. She loves them! She wanted to pose for the camera.

The party invitation for a Little Mermaid Under the Sea Party

Cute apron from Grandma and Grandpa Cornia

Alexis turned 4 today. We can hardly believe how big she is getting. She has started preschool and is really liking it a lot. Yesterday I was telling her how she has grown up so fast and that I couldn't believe she was 4 she smiled and said "I'm so proud to be 4!" I guess she learned the word "proud" and it's meaning. It was funny. I took cupcakes to preschool today that I bought from the grocery store. I actually started making some this morning and was one egg short. I got back from the store and was just about to bake the cupcakes when I noticed the box said best if used by July 2007! I decided to look up on the Internet cake shelf life. It said they might not rise as well but it was safe to eat. Well I cooked them a bit to long I guess because the bottoms burned. I decided to go ahead and frost them to try and get them to preschool on time but the frosting was melting everywhere. I ended up throwing all 24 burnt cupcakes away. Then I forgot how many kids were in her class and brought only 12 store bought cupcakes for 14 kids! Luckily one kid didn't want one and one forgot to get one so we had just enough! Saved! What a cupcake Disaster!

Crayon Drawings

Here are some fun Crayon Drawings Alexis Did. I'm not sure what they are for sure. Yes they do look backwards, they really aren't. Alexis draws left handed so now that she is learning to right letters she often wrights from right to left and backwards. Maybe you could guess what these are. I will put my interpretations too. maybe "emily" the words say "alimee"
I think this is a reindeer the letters say "randee" and then she ran out of paper.

I think this might be our family.

Probably a story she was writing.

Alexis wrote and illusrated this book. I thought it was really cute and creative. If you click on the bottom right corner it should take you to the sight where you can see it full screen and slow it down. Enjoy!
